grown and made with passion
Estate Vineyards, Green Bluff, WA. The first vineyard of Barbera was planted in 2005. Over the following years other Italian varietals have been planted and produced into wine including Pinot Grigio - and Dolcetto and Nebbiolo used for our red blend. Our most recently planted vines, Lemberger (Franconia), will be ready to harvest in 2-3 years. The growing season is short which requires aggressive pruning and thinning techniques. The vines are dryland farmed, and do not require irrigation.
As an Italian I grew up with wine. As a winemaker I have made a conscious effort to make wine that I like to drink. I believe that if I am proud of my wine, our customers will be too. I trust my palate and I listen to the grapes. This may cause me to make a decision that goes against standard methods, however I believe that if you trust your palate you can make a decent wine, and if you follow your instinct your wine will be unique.
